Angela

Here's a fun rush project I had for my good friend's sister, Angela:

While the project was in the making, Angela was very firm about our main goal. And we're both happy that that GOAL was achieved!☼

Thanks again Jiji, for being a fabulous model for this piece! :))

Jackie ♥ Ian: Red, Yellow and Tangerine

Jackie's one of my favorite sisses in GT. We did her wedding gown inspired by Monique Lhuillier's Magical, the pretty tangerine outfits for their sponsors, two-toned yellow gold tea-lengths for the bridesmaids and bright red princess cuts for the little girls.

I hope I can post fabulous photos from their big day soon. For the meantime, I have a grabbed pic here:
Best wishes again sis Jackie and Ian! Thank you thank you thank you, too!

Beige and Layers

Pure white bridals are a classic. With a white base, here's an attempt to play with a beige silky chiffon layer:

I just loved it! :)

A Vintage Cocktail

Here's what we have for Lani's Vintage-themed Civil Wedding Dress:

It even looked better with a pretty face wearing it on:

Lani's Goddess Bridal

This is one of the projects I have dedicated my self to.

Our Draft for the Bridal Gown

The first layer is made of silk- like Japanese chiffon while the second is of light spandex.

Lani's Goddess Dress in the Making =)

It did not fit well on my fitting form (it's a medium! So I guess Lani needs a smaller fitting form for this dress). It's a free flowing dress so I have a  crinoline petticoat ready here. She might wanna wear one for a little volume.

I was quite challenged with assembling the studs on the waist. So I had to lay them this way first:

The first attempt to attach these was with a needle and thread. With strips of double sided adhesive, and pins, I tried to hand-sew this and I was unsuccessful since the studs would still flip.

The second attempt was to attach them on a separate fabric belt, but was still unsuccessful since the velcro didn't look good.

Finally, it occured to me that fabric glue exists. It was a success this time. :)

And while I was doing the final run for the hems, guess what? My needle gave up!

First ever broken needle for the year!

I wish I can post a picture of this dress ready for the fitting. But of course, I can't yet. Had to have Lani fit it first before the image is publicized. Lol!

(We're supposed to do the fitting today.  But I don't have a driver yet, and it's almost 3PM!)

My first client from the office:

Yes, it's V-back!

Hi friend! I posted your pic :)) Thanks for loving that V-back long gown!

Jackie's First Fitting

16 April 2011. Jackie's First Fitting
Chesapeake Village, Imus

Side kwento: I had no choice but to deliver the gowns by public transpo since nobody can accompany me but my three-year old daughter. I didn't know Chesapeake was like in a faraway land? Lol!

Jackie's Dress, vacuum packed- ready for delivery!

The gown looked fabulous on the fitting form but I did not expect that it will look even more astonishing when a live person wears it. The Magical Dress was perfect for Jackie!

I hope I can post a picture soon...

And I so thank you sis Jackie for giving me the opportunity to discover this new pattern! It was such a masterpiece!

Jackie's Magical Dress

It was a challenge executing this wedding dress for my GT sis, Jackie. Firstly, this is the first mermaid cut project we'll be doing ever since the business started.

Secondly, it was inspired by Monique Lhuillier's Magical Wedding Gown.

Monique Lhuillier's Magical
Instead of using french chantilly, we're opting for corded spanish lace for the bodice and bridal satin instead of silk orchidea for the skirt. :))

Starting off with the patterns, we tried doing the skirt in manila paper, to fit a barbie doll:

It was a real challenge that I even asked for Ate Tess's guidance until we had it done.
When I assembled the masterpiece on the fitting form, I then thought. It was worth all the efforts!

A Grecian Themed Wedding in the Making

I met another sis from GT earlier this year. We were exchanging emails and opinions on goddess-themed bridals until I found my self commissioned to do the project later on.  It was such a small world when we realized we were schoolmates in college, and were from the same department, and shared the same course.:)

Her wedding gown inspiration was like Athena's dress with gold studs to accentuaet her waist. Here's our draft for this concept:

And here's what we are planning for the entourage:

For the bride's sister, the bride's second dress and the flower girls:

Seven Months on the Way

Exactly 7 months ago, I walked down the aisle in this wedding dress. It was a simple one, something I chose to reflect my simple personality.*wink*

I was seven months expecting and I had to let go of my dreams of wearing that V-back, princess cut flamboyant wedding gown I designed for myself. But just because I was seven months expecting doesn't mean that I won't be entitled to look fabulous on our big day. I didn't want to look funny walking down that red carpet wearing something that looked sloppy on me. So I had to get my sketchpad again and conceptualized on something that will still look flattering on me. Afterwards, I consulted my ever opinionated and artistic husband-to-be then.

We came up with a tube, empire line wedding dress which will highlight the only perfect feature I have- my shoulders! Haha... At 32B, there is nothing I can flaunt for the bust area. But I had no choice but to draw the attention upwards since my belly's almost at its peak already. I accentuated the waist (yes, I still have one then! Hooray! Hehe...)

Of course, I didn't want to look shapeless, so I opted for an A-Line since it looks good on everyone. Including expectant moms like me. :) The dress was made using Duchess Satin, and I made sure that it would be long and dramatic, with a simple chapel train.

It was simple. And it was so me... I loved it! :)

Canine Fashion

The last time I spent quality time with my Japanese Spitz Aloha (Ate Ola, as Allison fondly calls her) was like an era ago.  I use to dress her with fun fashionista fabs and take photos of her.  My bad, I lost all the files. I miss you Baby Lo...

Having inspired by my baby Ola, we will be launching a Fashion Line for Canines. And tigers as well. LOL

Perhaps I still have to learn the basics of pet fashion design and advanced pattern making... Good thing I have a very talented hubby who can do the sketching for me. TIA for the illustrations, honey! I love you!

And yes, I am a very big fan of Kiki Hamann.:)

A Little White Dress

September 2010, a sister from GT commisioned me to make a little white dress for her wedding reception.

A month later, she changed her mind. No, not that she didn't want the dress anymore. Hehe... She wanted to wear it for their pre-nup instead.

I got this done for her in October for her photoshoot. And here's the piece inspired by Maggie Sottero (oh, i so love her!):

Thanks sis Khris and Del for considering our services. Best wishes to you!

My Jim Project

My first summer wedding project for 2011!

Here's my little contribution to Jim Cablinda's wedding to Dr. Herbert Caluban in Davao City.

Cocktail dresses and skirts got some added lift this season as these bubble bottoms took flight. Here's a piece before the final touches:

The ladies loved these simple yet gorgeous pieces for that fun summer wedding:

And my little girl sure did love her Princess-Cut Dress with a Ruffled Hem:

Perhaps I can post professional photos for these works soon.

Best wishes to the newly weds, Jim and Herbert! We hope you're enjoying your Singapore- Malaysia- Indonesia Honeymoon Adventure!

XOXO
