Lani's Goddess Bridal

This is one of the projects I have dedicated my self to.

Our Draft for the Bridal Gown

The first layer is made of silk- like Japanese chiffon while the second is of light spandex.

Lani's Goddess Dress in the Making =)

It did not fit well on my fitting form (it's a medium! So I guess Lani needs a smaller fitting form for this dress). It's a free flowing dress so I have a  crinoline petticoat ready here. She might wanna wear one for a little volume.

I was quite challenged with assembling the studs on the waist. So I had to lay them this way first:

The first attempt to attach these was with a needle and thread. With strips of double sided adhesive, and pins, I tried to hand-sew this and I was unsuccessful since the studs would still flip.

The second attempt was to attach them on a separate fabric belt, but was still unsuccessful since the velcro didn't look good.

Finally, it occured to me that fabric glue exists. It was a success this time. :)

And while I was doing the final run for the hems, guess what? My needle gave up!

First ever broken needle for the year!

I wish I can post a picture of this dress ready for the fitting. But of course, I can't yet. Had to have Lani fit it first before the image is publicized. Lol!

(We're supposed to do the fitting today.  But I don't have a driver yet, and it's almost 3PM!)

Jackie's First Fitting

16 April 2011. Jackie's First Fitting
Chesapeake Village, Imus

Side kwento: I had no choice but to deliver the gowns by public transpo since nobody can accompany me but my three-year old daughter. I didn't know Chesapeake was like in a faraway land? Lol!

Jackie's Dress, vacuum packed- ready for delivery!

The gown looked fabulous on the fitting form but I did not expect that it will look even more astonishing when a live person wears it. The Magical Dress was perfect for Jackie!

I hope I can post a picture soon...

And I so thank you sis Jackie for giving me the opportunity to discover this new pattern! It was such a masterpiece!

Jackie's Magical Dress

It was a challenge executing this wedding dress for my GT sis, Jackie. Firstly, this is the first mermaid cut project we'll be doing ever since the business started.

Secondly, it was inspired by Monique Lhuillier's Magical Wedding Gown.

Monique Lhuillier's Magical
Instead of using french chantilly, we're opting for corded spanish lace for the bodice and bridal satin instead of silk orchidea for the skirt. :))

Starting off with the patterns, we tried doing the skirt in manila paper, to fit a barbie doll:

It was a real challenge that I even asked for Ate Tess's guidance until we had it done.
When I assembled the masterpiece on the fitting form, I then thought. It was worth all the efforts!

A Grecian Themed Wedding in the Making

I met another sis from GT earlier this year. We were exchanging emails and opinions on goddess-themed bridals until I found my self commissioned to do the project later on.  It was such a small world when we realized we were schoolmates in college, and were from the same department, and shared the same course.:)

Her wedding gown inspiration was like Athena's dress with gold studs to accentuaet her waist. Here's our draft for this concept:

And here's what we are planning for the entourage:

For the bride's sister, the bride's second dress and the flower girls:
